Made of Steel
The eleventh anniversary, apparently, is the year of steel. And that seems about right, as David and I celebrated a marriage that is strong as a certain metal. We enjoyed the symphony (and nap, if you are David), a great dinner, and perfect company.
Half a Dozen Years of Fun
We celebrated the Playgroup turning six this weekend. We are so lucky to have found each other and am thrilled we take some time every year to remember those bleary-eyed days when we toted our first babies to one another's homes, relieved to know we weren't the only ones experiencing the wonder (and horror) of being a first time mom. Cheers to Playgroup- for this and many years to come!
Drum Roll, Please...
Mia and I are now officially learning to play a musical instrument. Not the drums, as these pictures suggest, but the cello. Practical wisdom might have resulted in a smaller choice, but we had a blast at our first lesson and are looking forward to learning something new together. Teagan really embraced the drum when we were in the music store. Corey Family Orchestra may be in our future.

Jinx!
Mia is very into the childhood game of calling "jinx" when you say the same thing as another person at the same time. This is the shoe version.
Dance Break!
You never know when you might go out for a family dinner and a "non-marching" band happens to be nearby and the girls can make the night a dance party.

Marlin Pride
Mia had her first swim practice as a Marlin on Thursday. She loved being on a team and spent the full half hour swimming laps hard and fast. I was proud and she was happy- win, win!
Kickoff
On Tuesday, Mia started first grade and Teagan started Preschool in the Forest class. Mia was thrilled to be back, embracing her friends and posing happily at her desk. Teagan started off all smiles, but shed some tears once she realized I wasn't sticking around. Each day has been better. I'm told she loves music and is a nonstop chatterbox. You don't say!
T'was the Day Before School
We marked the last day of the never ending summer with a lunch date (wikistix glasses) and a park date. My girls are growing up- sniff, sniff!
Sunday Night Dance Party
I could tell you that it is a rare occurrence to see Teagan in this getup, dancing to Gaga, on a Sunday night. But I would be lying.
Fancy Nancys
Last Friday, Mia and Teagan raided my closet, put on my clothes (that is Mia wearing on of my shirts as a dress), and made our pizza delivery night a "feast." Our milk was even in champagne flutes. Cheers!

Shopgirls
Some school clothes shopping was on the agenda this weekend. Though Teagan has a strict no-shorts policy going right now, she was willing to make an exception for this ensemble- an ensemble she was unwilling to take off in the store.
