Staying Cool

When the temperatures rise, sometimes arts and crafts and a little dress-up do the trick.

On To First Grade!

Mia graduated from kindergarten today! Her class performed their own version of "One Day" during the school's Stepping Up ceremony. Mia was very expressive and involved during the song, no doubt drawing on all those theater classes. She beamed with pride all day, so excited about a year well done. We heartily concur.

Now It's Summer

Ice cream cones to celebrate the last day of the school year. Now we can officially welcome my favorite season.

Pixar In Concert

Mia and I attended a performance by the Marin Symphony featuring excerpts from the scores from Pixar movies. My favorite suite was from Ratatouille, while Mia favored Wall-E. It was such a cool experience - even the director of Brave showed up to add some interesting insight on the importance of music to animation.

Make Way For Ducklings

The latest addition to our adorable Marin Country Mart- a home for the duck couple who make the pond their home.

Kindergarteners Gone Wild

We hosted the class end-of-the-year party for Mia's class and while I had my reservations about having 24 kids swimming and playing, turns out I had nothing to worry about. We had a ton of fun and the only casualty was the now-dented rooftop of the plastic playhouse. In other words, success!

Cool Cousins

We had a rare but lovely visit from some extended Corey family this weekend (David's cousin, Norman, and family). The youngest cousins embraced some pool and Popsicle time, while Mia had some very cool face art painted by older cousin, Sarah.

Backyard Bonanza

We have a new slide for the pool, although the girls are happy to use it sans water. Bikes and scooters, and chasing Dad, also figure favorably into a home bound Sunday afternoon.
