Sweet Potato for a Sweet Potato
We are continuing our tour of pureed foods. So far, Mia has enjoyed rice cereal (thumbs down), oatmeal (great, when mixed with something else), pears (yay!), bananas (double yay!!), avocados (eh) and sweet potatoes (possibly a triple yay, judging from the amount consumed). The happiness that she divines from my "cooking," by the way, is far greater than what most of my time in the kitchen produces.
Along with the photos, I offer my Dear Readers a video of our extremely tidy dining session and, pre-dinner, Mia with her jingle bells. She takes the business of jingling rather seriously.

More Sitting...the Action Version
Here is some riveting video of Mia sitting -- for the really devoted M fans out there. For everybody's sake, I wish I knew how to do a mute version. My Mommy Voice is hideously annoying.

Getting Ready for Bed
Since our bedtime routine has become such a big part of our lives around here, I figured we'd share in some photos of this ritual...
After we draw the bath, we change out of Mia's clothes on her changing table -- which, of course, means, playing a quick peekaboo session with the quilt.
Mia loves her bath -- she likes to help me with the washcloth.

Thanks to Aunt Julie and Uncle Richie, we read books in the bath, too. Mia insists (as she aways seems to do) on holding the book herself.

Back on the changing table, it is time for more playtime with Zephyr, the quilt zebra, and showing Mom and Dad how flexible Mia is.

Pre-sleep yoga is the best! Toes and feet are so yummy.

Dressed in her pajamas, Mia often likes to spend a few minutes playing around on the floor before Mom gives her a final snack. See how happy she is about this? Yep, she has crazy hair after her bath.
Tonight was a time for practicing her rolling. Away she goes...

...off the carpet and into the hamper...
...and back on her tummy...
Now we're ready for sleep!
Night, night everybody.
XO- Lara

Christmas in Florida, Part Two
I know that our loyal readers have been obsessively checking our website to see the promised "Part Two" of our holiday photos. Well, I know it took awhile (could not find a missing part of the camera), but HERE THEY ARE!!! And they are only almost identical to the other ones.
Days are getting busier in the Corey household. Mia loves her music classes and tolerated her first swim class. She's not so keen on the whole underwater thing -- though perhaps it is actually me who is not so keen on the underwater thing.

A Little Girl's Best Friend
In other news, Mia is now five months. Data is unofficial, but based on a quick weigh-in at the doctor's office this week when I confirmed her cold was nothing but a cold, she is now thirteen pounds, five ounces and twenty-five inches. This places her exactly at the same percentiles as she was at last month -- she might be a peanut, but at least she is consistently so!
We started music class today and she loved it, especially when we played with rainbow scarves and various instruments. Swim classes were supposed to start on Monday, but we didn't quite make it, so we'll hit the water next week. Judging from the splashfest we have each night in the bathtub, it should be lots of fun.

Christmas in Florida, Part One
Here are a few photos taken with Grandma's camera; I still need to upload mine. We took some video as well, so maybe we'll get that on the site -- exciting footage of Mia rolling over and playing with some new toys, as well as shoving basically everything in her mouth (yummy toes!).
In Life Is Slowly Returning To Normal Again news, David and I managed to see a movie in an actual theater (Charlie Wilson's War) and eat an adult meal at a restaurant. Thanks Grandma, Pap-Pap, Aunt Kelly & Cousin Alexis!
We unfortunately are experiencing another first: Mia's First Cold. Not fun at all, though she's been handling it like a champ (except for the snot sucker, which is not her friend). Indeed, her scratchy voice seems to be just another source of entertainment to her. I'm sure our neighbors think we adopted a cat over the holidays.
