Dressing Up

A new hobby of Mia's is to play dress up, especially with this fun silk kimono that she received as a birthday present. Tres chic.

More of Mia's Moves and Musings

Prior to this video, Mia was pushing around a walker around the house for a good 30+ minutes while making constant noise. Of course, when I got out the camera to capture this odd behavior, she stopped. So, our devoted viewers, you get this much less exciting video. And yes, I'm exploiting my daughter for my own political views (though I limit the t-shirt wearing to our house only).

Walking the Dog

Once Mia started walking, it was only a matter of time before we put her to work walking Otter. Here are some very early morning photos of her new favorite activity, as evidenced by the serious bedhead:

Oy. Must you bring out that camera, Mom, when I haven't even had my morning coffee?

Soon we will get a saddle and let Otter take Mia on a ride around the neighborhood.
Lots of hair gel to get this gravity-defying look.

Let us out! Let us out! We are being held captive by some crazy woman claiming to be our mother!!

Mia wants a wardrobe change.

Here she is checking herself, and a new outfit, in the mirror.

Sitting On the Beach By the Bay

...San Francisco Bay, that is. Here are some post-swim class photos of Mia playing on the beach on a rare warm afternoon. They were taken with my phone, so not very high quality. I need to get out the good camera and take some new photos -- sorry I've been so bad about updates!

Not Quite Quiet Time at the Corey House

Here are a few random clips from today of Mia being Mia. As you can see from the final segment, she isn't exactly a silent child while exploring things. I mean, how can you contain your excitement when you're exploring the intricacies of a Thermos bottle top?!?

My Two Front Teeth

It was brought to my attention that we have no photos of Mia's elusive teeth. Her first tooth broke ground a few days before her first birthday, followed quickly by the two top teeth, which have outpaced the bottom one and are now pretty big. Here are some photos, though it is admittedly hard to capture the pearly whites. For now, she is definitely in Greta Garbo/Madonna territory with the gap -- I assume that goes away as the other teeth make their way?

Anybody Else Smell Something?

We were playing today at the Discovery Museum in Sausalito, where there is an abundance of stuffed animals to pretend with and costumes of various bugs and mammals with which to play dress up. Mia was particularly enamored with the skunk costume and put it on herself (despite the toasty temperatures) -- I had to help her into the second armhole. Here are some blurry phone photos. I love the last one, of her making her stinky getaway through the tunnel.
