By now everybody should have received their holiday card from us. Here are some of the photos that did not make the cut that I thought were pretty cute -- if not card-worthy. Tomorrow, Mia and I are headed to Clearwater for Christmas. David will follow on Sunday. Grandma and Pap-Pap Glasgow promise Griswold-level decorations, which should keep our little girl pretty entertained. Otter, sadly, will be back in SF, though he'll be having a blast at the Fog City Dog Lodge. We'll watch him from afar on the webcam and send him our love. Happy Holidays to everybody. I wish we could spend the next week with all of our family (Grammy & Big Papi -- have fun with Uncle Brian, Aunt Chris & Cousin Huck!). Many pictures to come after we return. XO- Lara

Happy One Third Birthday, Mia
Mia turned four months this weekend. It was confirmed at her doctor's appointment today that our little one, while still definitely little, is doing most of her growing lengthwise these days. She weighs in at a little over twelve pounds and is now 24 1/4 inches. She's healthy and happy and, thankfully, a lot less full of tears these days (though not during her shots). And in what we can only hope is a continued pattern, Mia is celebrating this latest milestone with a great big helping of sleep. Cheers to that.

Sitting Pretty
We gathered the playgroup babies and dads together today to celebrate the holidays and, of course, take another cute group shot on the couch. My how they've all grown. There's Mia on the far left, looking positively unimpressed by the whole setup. As you can see from the rest of the photos, modesty is not a virtue she likes to observe.

How Do You Say Gibberish in Japanese?
Here are two videos for your viewing pleasure. The first is from this afternoon and is of Mia enjoying her new mobile. She is so excited by it that she can't even find the words or sounds to express herself, I suppose, so it is a silent movie. The second is of Mia and Dad in Chicago -- David was hot off his trip to Asia and was speaking some nonsense Japanese to his little girl.

The Spaceship Has Landed
No, aliens have not invaded our house. This is just the latest source of baby entertainment to fill our living room: the exersaucer. Mia is a little on the small side to be using it just yet, but I decided to assemble it to give her time being upright (she loves when I sit her up these days). Hideous as it may be, it seems like it will be a fixture in the home for at least a few months. Looks like we'll have to convince ourselves that giant slabs of colored plastic are the latest in interior design. The Coreys are tres chic.
