Maid For Hire

As it turns out, Teagan specializes in both making and cleaning up messes.

Ready for Homework

Mia has been asking us for some time to organize the built-in desk and find a chair so that she could "do homework".  As far as I can tell, this involves reading, writing, and playing with poker chips.  She has a coaster for her drink and, naturally, a high chair for Piggy Girl so that she can join in the fun.  Look out, Kindergarten!

Celebrating Another Baby Girl

The Corey Girls, dressed to celebrate.

Mia, always accessorized, was dressed and ready to go by 8:30 am for a 2:30 pm party.
Mia and friend, Ella, enjoying baby shower cupcakes.

Teagan loved the circus tent set up in front of an impressive Napa valley background.

Mia, swimming in the pool, also amid breathtaking scenery.

Christie, Ashley (the mom-to-be), and Amy (sister-in-law to Ashley and mom of one of Mia's classmates) enjoying the gorgeous day.

Aunt Christie and the girls.  Teagan was happy, promise.

See?  She's happy!

Really getting into the festivities with a cupcake with her Daddy.
Yesterday we celebrated the impending arrival of a friend's baby girl in true wine country style.  Toasts with delicious wine were aplenty, as were the wonderful food, conversation and unbeatable scenery.  The kids had a blast, as did the grown ups.  The fact that Auntie Christie was there, too, and ready for a sleepover at the Corey house made it all the sweeter.

Mountain Baby

Hard to compete with the beautiful Mt. Tamalpais in the background, but Teagan tried her best to keep our attention while playing at the park this weekend.

Friday Wrap-Up

Landscape Artist

If you are in the market for somebody to paint your grass, I have your girl:

All Grows Up

I'm sure Swingers is not used for blog post titles too frequently on family blogs, but that's what I'm thinking when I see Mia wearing a positively big girl dress (no Disney princess to be found anywhere!) with matching accessories, all picked out by herself.  Added to it, we found what may be her first journal entry, musing on pizza and other existential dilemmas ("beats me"!).  How big is Mia?  So big...

You've Got The Cutest Little Baby Face

Teagan, being a little challenged in the hair and teeth departments, tends to look a little younger than her fourteen months.  But with this adorable baby face, we're in no rush to have her looking older.

Pool Plus Play

Now that we are in the thick of beautiful Marin weather, the pool playdates are frequent. We may be a little soggier and sunsoaked, but no complaints to be found in these parts.

Getting Her Groove

Teagan, feeling very proud she is among the upright during music class.

All Day Long. Repeat.

Videographic proof of our very obedient dog, while also providing the reason behind all that eating.

Munch Bunch

Perhaps because she can be found wandering nonstop during all waking hours and is therefore in need of great stores of energy, Teagan currently has a voracious appetite.  Today she demonstrated that being dentally challenged (still just two teeth, with two teeny flashes of white poking through the top) is no match for a grilled cheese and fries.  She also discovered ketchup, with much relish (ba dum dum).  Even the typically picky Mia got in on the action, smiling and eating her way to the clean plate club, too.  No photos to prove or disprove whether we followed up this meal with some gelato.

All Hands On Deck

My very fancy girls enjoyed the Lego center at the bookstore today.  Guess who dressed Teagan?

Playdate Pause

Sadly, this week marks the end of a very fun era.  Our friends, Lisa (friends since we were 11!) and Baby Quinn, had been joining Teagan and me for regular outings since the two tykes were itty bitty.  But, alas, Lisa is headed back to work and our little field trips will be put on pause for now.  Our trips to the Japanese Tea Garden, the DeYoung Museum, the Academy of Sciences, the Discovery Museum, and the Ferry Building -- to name a few -- will be fondly remembered!

And One For All

Cousin Avery turned one two weeks ago and Teagan is very excited to invite her to the big girl club.

Our Little Monets

Their preferred medium -- watercolors, of course.  Mia tends toward rainbows instead of waterlilies.  Teagan is still dabbling in abstract art.

Feeling Good

Teagan did not have a very fun weekend, spending way too much time being poked and prodded by a variety of doctors and nurses as she fought a high fever and a respiratory infection.  After a few days of catching up on sleep and taking her medicine, she was feeling much better today and was even up for some time at the playground.  So nice to see our happy camper happy again!

You Are My Sunshine

Months of practice and hours of rehearsing her moves in front of her bedroom mirror were finally put to use this afternoon when Mia took to the stage with her "Broadway Babies" class. They performed "You Are My Sunshine" and "I Got The Sun In The Morning" decked out in their adorable flower tutus. Mia, front and center, did a great job remembering the words, dancing the choreography, and -- most importantly -- having a blast. In addition to her proud parents and baby sister (who excitedly pointed and squawked at her during her entire performance), Mia was lucky enough to have Grammy and Papi there to see her, as well as playgroup buddy, Kiana, preschool friends, Mia S. and Fletcher. We celebrated with a BBQ post-show, toasting to the success of our little rays of sunshine.

Deeper Into Toddlerhood

Teagan turned fourteen months this weekend! Seemingly growing before our eyes each day, she is really finding her legs as of late, wandering around the house, and beyond, with increased gusto. The Discovery Museum is becoming a favorite haunt, with the (pretend) fish stream her preferred destination. She is also back in the pool at swim lessons, enthusiastically pointing and waving to Big Sis Mia who watches her from a nearby bench.

Oh so serious.
