Baby Shower

Mia decided that a shower cap makes a perfectly delightful hat when you are looking for a special little oomph. Don't you agree?

Snug as a Bug in an Ugg

Aunt Chris got these for Mia last year, but her little feet are only now fitting them properly. Her mini Uggs are perfect for the cold, wet SF winter. Here she is dancing in them this morning.

The Learning Tower of Mia

Mia's Learning Tower, a sturdy little platform that lets her watch and join me in the kitchen activities, arrived today and she immediately embraced it. Let the cookie baking begin! The last picture is her playing some dress up in her silk robe.

Hi, Pippi

Mia can wear pigtails! Yay for pigtails. In other news, Grandma Glasgow and Cousin Alexis are in town, which means lots of time affixed to each of their hips.

Please Tell Me the Princess Phase is Still Far Away

Mia has discovered the joy in purses. Here she is tooling around the house in one of her many Christmas outfits from Aunt Chris and a bag that, incidentally, also came from Aunt Chris (via a bridesmaid gift that I received when she got married). If she starts showing an interest in pink tutus and tiaras, I may have to revolt and purchase a few trains and trucks. [Also, Piggy has become such a fixture in Mia's photos -- and her life in general -- I'm thinking about publishing a volume of children's books not unlike the Where's Waldo series.]

The (in)famous San Francisco fog was out in full effect this morning. Here it is cloaking downtown, as seen from our backyard. You can see the Transamerica building poking through, along with what I think is the very tippy top of David's building (to the left of the Pyramid).

A Family Divided

David was raised mostly in San Diego and is, therefore, a Chargers fan. Lara was born in Pittsburgh and spent her first nine years in Pennsylvania cheering on the Steelers (though she would argue she is mostly a Bucs fan these days). The upcoming matchup this Sunday presents a familial dilemma of sorts for Mia -- for which team should she cheer? If Grandma Glasgow has anything to do with it, as these photos showcasing her latest "gifts" suggest, Mia will be wearing Black and Gold. I think her skeptical expressions indicate otherwise. An update to follow...

Party Dress

I realized I forgot to upload pictures of Mia in her New Year's party dress. She rocked it out until 10pm. Lara fared only slightly better. (The scowl in the last photo is her reaction to a little boy singing Jingle Bells to her.)

Downward Dog

Mia showing off her new handstand move -- sometimes we catch her doing it in her crib during naptime. Our little girl is a yogi.

Pig and Pigtails

David and Mia and Piggy went walking post-dim sum this afternoon. For the fashionistas among you, Mia is wearing a pigtail hat and a fuzzy warm sweater vest from Grammy and Grandpa Corey. Piggy is sans clothes.
