Staying Classy

No trip to San Diego is complete without a healthy dose of the zoo, so off we went today. Pandas, a pangolin, and the sky ride were among the faves inside the zoo's borders, although the train, butterfly ride, and merry-go-round were rather popular, too. No rescues of news anchors in the bear pit, alas, but I think Ron Burgundy would be pleased with our day.

February at Fairyland

Sunny and warm skies in February? Must be a fairy tale, so we went to confirm at Fairyland. Turns out, it really was a dream come true, but not just because of the weather. Playgroup BFF, Lily, and family joined us for a fun day in Oakland. Teagan particularly enjoyed the nibbles.

Mia's buddy, Kaitlin, spent the night and I'm pleased to report it was a smashing success.

Glass Half Full

Mia is now five and a half! We celebrated with a Mommy and Mia trip to the Walt Disney Family Museum, where we saw Snow White. We continued the party at California Pizza Kitchen (only a gazillion kids there on a Friday night) and finished up with a few presents at home. Space was the theme -- a recent fixation for Mia -- and she was elated to pick up some new books, try some astronaut ice cream, and tell me all about her vast knowledge of the solar system as we hung glow-in-the-dark versions from her ceiling. The kid forgets nothing she has read, making me slightly nervous for the years ahead. I better start brushing up on my textbooks!

Cinderella Complex

Teagan was all too proud to show off her sparkly dress and hair bow. It only took two years for her hair to be bow-able!
